As a 13 year homeschool mom, I've learned my fair share of lessons through MUCH trial and error and wanted to compile all of my favorites for you!
Homeschooling our children was the best decision we've ever made as parents and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Simplifying Your Schedule
My friend, Serena is the homeschooling queen and has an amazing course to help you on your homeschooling journey!
Curriculum is such a hot topic and I'm just sharing some of our favorites because ultimately what worked for me might not work for you. And if you have multiple children, one single curriculum might not work for all of your children. I want to encourage you to explore different curriculums, learning styles, and know that it's ok to change things up every year and even throughout the year!
We also used a charter when we were in California. It was started by homeschool parents so it was very much in line with our Christian worldview even though they were technically not allowed to use Christian curriculum.
There are plenty of communities and co-ops available all over. You don't have to do this alone!
Be sure to find the laws in your state as they are all different. California was actually pretty easy as you could just file one page saying you're homeschooling.
In Tennessee we do have to use an umbrella school and it does have a fee but they do all of our reporting. If you're in Tennessee you can use Home Life Academy. And you still can use whatever curriculum you want.
And remember! Your child does not need to be "doing school" seven hours a day, 180 days a year. When they can be focused and get through what they need to learn it takes much less time. We never did all 180 days of school and most days only take a few hours of formal education. My older two children graduated early and my third is about to do the same.
